Ladies Academy 2023
We are in the second year of our hugely successful Ladies Academy which has brought many new women golfers to the game. Please see details of our Academy below, but if you would like any further information please do not hesitate to get in touch - phgc@pinnerhillgc.com.
Stage 1 - Academy with Head Professional Crue Elliott
- Cost £60 for a 6 week term.
- Weekly lesson.
- At the end of 6 weeks Crue to decide whether the player is good enough to progress to Academy Membership or should do a further 6 weeks.

Stage 2 - Academy Membership
- Only players who have graduated Crue’s Academy may be eligible for Academy Membership.
- Upon sign-off from Crue, players may join the Academy Membership, priced at £275 (plus Union fees of £24.25).
- Players may play at the following times with a chaperone (compiled of a pool from the Ladies section):
- Mondays, 10.00
- Thursdays, 10.00
- Sundays, 15.00
- Before going onto the course at these times there will be a 20 minute practice session.
- Players must complete 3 holes in 21 shots to progress to 6 holes.
- Players must complete 6 holes in 42 shots to progress to 9 holes.
- Players must complete 9 holes in 2 hours 30 minutes on at least 2 occasions (as a 2 ball), both front 9 and back 9, before being permitted to put cards in for handicap.
- Players should then be encouraged to play 18 holes.
- During the Academy year, players are encouraged to continue receiving some form of coaching.
- Players should submit 4 x 9 hole cards (front 9 only) and 1 x 18 hole card to obtain a handicap. The Committee has specified that only Full, 5 Day, Lifestyle or Associate members may mark cards for handicap.
- Once a handicap index is achieved, Academy players may join the Ladies section on the following occasions:
- For the Greensomes element of the Spring and Autumn Meetings, followed by the meal
- The Christmas golf and lunch
- The Lady Captain’s Drive-In golf and lunch
- During times of inclement weather, the players and chaperones are encouraged to conduct some indoor training on rules and etiquette.
- Players with a handicap index may play outside of the times specified above (excluding Saturdays and Sundays before 13.00) with a Full, 5 Day, Lifestyle or Associate member (at times in accordance with the member’s relevant playing rights) upon payment of a member guest green fee.
- At the end of the Academy year, players are invited to take up one of the full membership options. Players are encouraged to utilise the full Academy year, however may, at the discretion of the Lady Captain, be permitted to upgrade to full membership before the end of the year.
